Halloween AU - {Personal (supernatural) abilities}: 

Shaft has no sensation of physical pain on a regular basis, yet he claims that it is only during hallucinations and (as he states) when Asmodeus visits him, that he can experience physical pain.

The largest secret Shaft wishes to keep regards to his unnatural ability to survive any wound, and the fact that he feels no pain. On a side note, due to this he also has no physical reason to need to eat, sleep or respire (Though regardless he does so out of habit). He is a man who’s soul is ‘stapled to his body’.

This means that regardless of what physically happens to him, his soul cannot leave his body, and thus he continues to exist in the living world.

He can quite literally lose his head, and continue talking/thinking. Not only this but he will also continue to control his body.
Supernaturally speaking, he is a ghost which is forced to possess his own corpse. 

In Layman’s terms, he continues to live because he cannot die. He cannot die because his soul cannot leave his body. 

But Asmodeus’ visits are not  a figment, they are very real.

At an earlier point in his ‘life’ Shaft was forced to sign a contract with the demon . As the demon cannot claim Shaft’s soul, he tortures him in the mortal world as he would intend to in hell.

The contract Shaft signed with this demon is written up on Shaft’s chest in Latin, though because Shaft cannot read Latin, he himself has no idea what the terms of his contract consist of. Even if Shaft theoretically could read Latin, the contract would appear inverted in a mirror, or upside-down should he look down at his chest. He is incapable of reading the terms by himself.

The demon now follows and tortures Shaft as he wishes, but the contract states Asmodai is obliged heal him after some time.
The contract directly states:
“up to forty minutes and forty seconds after infliction. “
Please note that the number ‘40’ does not biblically represent an exact measurement of time. Instead it translates to ‘as long as it takes’.
(As in Noah’s ark. Traveling for 40 days and 40 nights. )
Shaft will be healed after Asmodeus decides he has suffered enough.
Though the bloody mess that was made, even after Shaft himself is healed will stay.

With relevance to the ‘Mentality RP’ (should this character be accepted)

This repeated torture is the foundation to which Shaft’s mental disorder is built on.
Once in a while Shaft will be put in his cell, and the following morning the cell will be covered in blood, with occasional human bones  and even organs.  Should these be sampled and tested, they will prove to be his own, which is a bafflement in itself, as from scans, his Shaft’s own body appears intact, and the man shows no signs of physical damage of any form.

{Halucinations}:
Shaft is convinced a demon by the name of Asmodai, (Or as Shaft also seems to call him Asmodeus or Allan) is following him. He fears that the demon could possess any individual in the institution, and that Allan’s soul purpose is to torture Shaft (Physically and mentaly).

{Sleeping & Eating disorder}:
In truth due to shaft’s supernatural abilities he has no physical need to eat, sleep or respire. He does so more out of habit, but will never grow naturally tired or hungry. He appears human and healthy due to Asmodeus repetitively healing him, but Shaft is in fact a soul attached to a walking corpse.

Please note that although Asmodeus (AKA Allan) is the reason behind Shaft’s mental instability, Asmodeus does keep Shaft’s appearance to the standard of a normal human. Asmodeus is able to, and does heal any, and all of Shaft’s wounds.

Consider this. Shaft could be a bloody wreck one minute, but should he find a moment of privacy, and work up the courage to summon Asmodai, he could be (in theory) instantly healed, and appear as good as new…. though Asmodai does not take kindly to being summoned, and Shaft would have to suffer at a later time for summoning him.
Falling back to our example of an unexplainable Puddle of blood in his cell the next morning.
